Speech in conjunction with Mahallah Ukhuwwah Day

With glowing hearts, we see the bright and blue sky of the Garden of Knowledge and Virtue. Therefore, let us present our highest gratitude to Allah SWT, the Lord of the Universe, for consenting our gathering here. We are nothing without Him. We, even, cannot do anything without His Consent.

At the same time, let us extend our heartiest wishes to our Messenger SAW, the one who upheld the spirit of friendship and brotherhood at its highest level during his prophetic live; and to his beloved family members and loyal companions.

SELAMAT DATANG. AHLAN WA SAHLAN WA MARHABAN BIKUM. Welcome to Mahallah as-Siddiq, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Gombak Campus, the place of “Generating the True Hope”.

It’s my pleasure, on behalf of the Organising Committee, to welcome one and all of you to Mahallah Ukhuwwah Day, organised jointly by Mahallah as-Siddiq and Mahallah Zubair al-Awwam, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Gombak Campus. Thank you, all, for joining us here despite of busy schedules and preparation for the upcoming Final Examination and Taaruf Week.

Last month, we share our arms in making Mahallah Zubair – as-Siddiq Grand Iftar 2015, held on 12 July in Mahallah Zubair al-Awwam, a true. Today, in this Mahallah, on this blessed Friday, we share our arms again in making this activity a success.

This effort signifies a good friendship between two Mahallat. We thank the Almighty Allah for consenting this kind of friendship. It’s an honour for us here to be their good friend.

We also would like to thank everyone from Mahallah Zubair for making our dreams a true. Let’s pray to Allah that He will sustain this friendship forever; and reward everyone working for this programme.

However, we gather here not only to celebrate that kind of friendship, but also to commemorate the principle of Integration laid down by this University. In meaning, we are here because we are one; IIUM Community, regardless of everything differentiating us.

We are also here to commemorate the joyful month of Syawal, where we celebrate Eid al-Fitr on 1 Syawal every Hijri year and where, according to Malaysian custom, we extend that kind of celebration until the last day of Syawal by visiting each other, sharing the feelings of joy and sorrow, saying sorry and improving relationship between one each other.

We are also here to commemorate the patriotic month of August, the month for Malaysians to commemorate the 31st day of August, the Independence Day, and the 16th day of September, the Malaysian Day, with the feelings of gratefulness and happiness. This is also a month for Malaysian to remember our heroes and warriors who have been struggled for this Fatherland in all fields, including those who are still with and who have been with this University.

Some of them left this world already sometimes ago. We are so sorry for this loss. Still, we have to accept this destiny that everyone live in this world will leave so soon. Let us pray to Allah that He will forgive their sins, accept their good deeds and place them in His Paradise with all Prophets and Righteous Men.

At this opportunity, we thank them unlimitedly. They sacrifice their blood, wealth and soul without being asked by anyone and without any assignation. We will not experience this peaceful Motherland without their struggle and sacrifice. This is the life truth: We will lost something in lieu of getting something.

Let us pray to Allah that He will continue rewarding them for every struggle did by every one of them. As their successors, we learn from their passion, struggle and sacrifice. We will continue taking good care of this Fatherland at the best of our ability, especially this University, the land we love.

We assemble here to give our hands and thanks to our guests who had been with these two Mahallat last time. They are:

1. DR. MUHAMAD FUZI BIN OMAR, former Principal of Mahallah as-Siddiq;

2. BR. A. KAMAL BAHRI BIN ABU, former Fellow of Mahallah as-Siddiq;

3. USTAZ MOHD. HANIF ARKUNI BIN ABAS, former Fellow of Mahallah as-Siddiq;

4. BR. WAN MOHD. ASHMIRULLAH BIN WAN ABDULLAH, former Fellow of Mahallah as-Siddiq, who is no longer a part of this University;

5. BR. SYAMSUL AMRI BIN ABDUL RAHIM, former Fellow of Mahallah Zubair; and

6. SR. MAROSWATY BINTI BAKRI, former Administrative Assistant of Mahallah Zubair, who has been promoted as a new Assistant Manager of Mahallah Ali.

On behalf of everyone assembled here, I would like to tender our appreciation to all of you for your good deeds and services to these two Mahallat throughout your tenure of service. We are indebted with you all.

We are also indebted to everyone who are still working for this University, particularly these two Mahallat. Those include our cleaners, gardeners and technicians who are working for Daya Bersih Sdn. Bhd. Every time the day starts, we will see their hard work, their high spirit and their high esteem to make sure that everything in these Mahallat are in a good condition.

We can pay your good endeavour nothing but with a prayer to Allah SWT that He will shower all of you His Blessings throughout your life, more and more.

Again, on this occasion, I thank everyone assembling in Mujamma as-Siddiq for your presence here. Your presence is verily meaningful for us. With your presence, we can share this joy in conjunction with the month of Syawal and August. With the same, we can share our aspiration with you for the mutual development.

We pray to the Almighty Allah that He will bless us all; forgive our sins and accepts all of our good deeds and quality services.

Thank you again for share this moment with us.
